Obituary of Tannah Brooks McCartney Walko

Hunker, Tannah Brooks McCartney Walko, age 41 of Hunker, PA, died Friday (3/21/14) in the Excela Health- Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg, PA. Ms. Walko was born August 22, 1972 in Mobile, AL, the daughter of Daniel and Fonda White McCartney. She was a member of the Hilltop United Methodist Church of Madison. Tannah was a 1992 graduate of Hempfield High School. She had worked as a Certified Nurses Aid for the William Penn Care Center in Penn Township. She loved spending time with her children, shopping with her mom, and going to the Casino. Tannah was a loving daughter and mother, and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Tannah is survived by her loving family: her parents, Daniel and Fonda McCartney, her beloved children; Breana D. Walko and her fiancée, Nathan VanDyke, and Brooke A. Aliff both of Hunker. She is also survived by her brothers, Daniel A. McCartney, Jr. of Tampa, FL, Christopher McCartney and his fiancée, Mindy Brown also of Hunker and her maternal grandparents, J.W. and Mavene White, and Breana's father, Eric Walko of Greensburg, and her beloved Pomeranian /Yorkie, Cleopatra Marie. She is also survived by a host of family and friends. Tannah was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Rita B. Savell and her parternal grandparents, Harry and Violet McCartney. Family and friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services for Tannah will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with the Rev. Randy D. Sweet officiating. Inurnment will be private.
