Obituary of Thomas Brisky

Mount Pleasant, Thomas S. Brisky, age 83 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Monday (2/17/14) at his home. Mr. Brisky was born August 27, 1930 in Latrobe, PA, the son of the late Stephen and Julia Shafron Brisky. He was Catholic by faith and attended both Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church and St. Pius X. Tom was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was employed for over 15 years by the Westmoreland County Community College in maintenance and as a courier. Tom was an excellent carpenter and craftsman. He enjoyed making trips to the orchards in Indiana and all over Western PA and supplying all of his friends with White peaches, and fresh apples and pears. Tom could be very stubborn and difficult at times, but he was a very kind soul who had a "Heart of Gold". He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and working with him. Tom is survived by his three Children, his sisters and brother, Julia Bell, Helen Finoli and Walter Brisky, and numerous nieces and nephews, and his "special" niece, Denise. He is also survived by his special lady, Ann McMahen and by his "best friend", John Sterdis, and by his Extended Family, the Students, Faculty and Staff of WCCC. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by: Ann Beeghly, Katherine Freeman, Mildred Mattock, Mary Wright, and Eileen Jablonsky. There will be no hours of public visitation. Private Inurnment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, Pa with military honors.
