Obituary of Anna Batchko Cochran

Tarrs, Anna Batchko Cochran, age 96 of Tarrs PA, formerly of Ruffs Dale, died Sunday (12/8/13) in the Rehabilitation Center of Greater Pittsburgh in Greensburg. Mrs. Cochran was born March 4, 1917 in Jeannette, PA, the daughter of the late Frank and Anastasia Wislocki Batchko. She was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant. Anna worked for Howard Johnson's of New Stanton in the housekeeping department for over 34 years. She was an avid sports fan who enjoying watching the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins and Notre Dame Football. She also followed all the sporting events of her great grandchildren with the Southmoreland Scotties. Anna enjoyed working crossword puzzles, and listening to her polka music. She loved cooking and baking for her family and friends. Anna was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Anna is survived by her loving family: her daughter, Patricia Perbonish and her husband Ivan of Tarrs, her grandchildren; Denise Markiewicz and Shawn, Kimberly Horner and Rob, Jennifer Whoric and Brian, and Michael Perbonish and Roberta, and by her beloved great grandchildren, Nicole Markiewicz, Alayna Perbonish, Gianna Perbonish, and Ty Whoric, her step grandchildren; Robbi Horner, Ashley Horner and Gage, and Nathan Horner, and by her great great grandchildren, Landen, Aria and Maliyah. She is also survived by her sister, Mildred Mencer and Guy of RuffsDale, her sisters in law, Genevieve Batchko and Mary Batchko, her brother in law, Charles Gauidose and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband, John Cochran in July of 1957, and by her brothers and sisters; John, Peter, Andrew and Adam Batchko, Mary Batchko, Evelyn Fulmer (Floyd), Rose DeMonic (John) and Julia Gauidose. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 2 until 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM the funeral home followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:30 in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Dennis A. Bogusz as celebrant. Private interment will be in the Madison Union Cemetery, Madison. A parish wake service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday @3PM.
