Obituary of Jennie P. Testa Snyder

Mount Pleasant, PA. Jennie P. Testa Snyder, 85 of Mount Pleasant, PA died Thursday, November 28, 2013 in Kaplin Family Hospice House, Danvers, MA. Mrs. Snyder was born March 17, 1928 in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of the late Anthony and Michaelina Fasano Testa. She was a devoted member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. She was a 1946 graduate of the former Ramsay High School and received her teaching certificate from Seton Hill College. Jennie taught 4th grade at St. Pius School for many years. In her younger years, she traveled with her husband Tom to Colorado, California, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Canada and Florida. She celebrated her 80th birthday on a cruise to Mexico with her sister Florence, niece Sandy and her daughter Patricia, and explored Paris and various locations in Italy including Cercemaggiore, the birthplace of her father Anthony, and Munich, Germany. Jennie enjoyed walking, knitting, reading and spending time with her family, and especially loved going on adventures with her sister Florence to the resorts and casinos. Jennie cherished her 4 grandchildren, and took great pride in all of their accomplishments. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister, and a friend to many. Jennie is survived by her loving family: her daughter, Patricia Snyder-Mathews and her husband John of Topsfield, MA, grandchildren; Thomas W. Snyder, III, Patrick Snyder, Nicholas Mathews, and Zoe Mathews. She is also survived by her brother, Frank Testa and her sister Florence Potoka, both of Mount Pleasant, and by her daughter-in-law, Janet Anderson Snyder of Lakewood, CA. In addition to her parents, Jennie was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Snyder in 1997, her son, Thomas Snyder, Jr. in 2009, her brothers Martin Testa in 1998, Joseph Testa in 2011, and by her sister; Mary Testa Kundrick in 1986. Family and friends will be received Saturday Januaray 4, 2013 from 12:30PM unitl 1:00PM the time of Jennie's Memorial Mass to be celebrated at St. Pius X. Roman Catholic Church, Summit and Silver Steets, Mt. Pleasant. Inurnment will be in St. Pius X. Parish Cemetery.
