Obituary of Stephen B. Kubasky

Mount Pleasant, Stephen B. (Rags) Kubasky, age 82 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Friday (11/15/13). Mr. Kubasky was born August 13, 1931 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Stephen and Mary Vimislicky Kubasky. He was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for many years. He was also a member of Visitation Rosary Altar Society. "Rags" served in the United States Army, Company E, during the Korean War. He retired with over 40 years of service from General Motors, Fisher Body Division. "Rags" was a member of the VFW Post 3368, the Kosciuszko Club, Slovak Club and the Polish Falcons of Mount Pleasant. He is survived by his loving family: his wife of 57 years, Veronica Kostyo Kubasky, his sons; Mark Kubasky and his wife Mary Jane and Jerome Kubasky and his wife Mary Beth, all of Mt. Pleasant, and by his beloved grandchildren; Christopher Kubasky and his wife Amanda of Greensburg, Shawna Kubasky and Ryan Reed, and Carmen Kubasky, all of Mt. Pleasant. "Rags" is also survived by his sister, Margaret Albright and her husband Robert, his brother, Raymond Kubasky and his wife Judy and his sister-n-law Patricia Kubasky all of Mt. Pleasant, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Kubasky in 2007. Family and friends will be received Monday from 1 to 4 & 6 to 9 pm at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Tuesday at 9:30AM in the funeral home followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 and VFW Post 3368 will be in the Visitation Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A Parish wake service will be held in the funeral home Monday at 3PM, and Visitation Rosary Altar Society will pray immediately after the wake service.
