Obituary of Thomas F. Stanek

Mount Pleasant, Thomas F. Stanek, age 58 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died unexpectedly Monday (11/4/2013) at Excela Health- Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Stanek was born October 25, 1955 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Frank and Sophia Chudik Stanek. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant. Tom was a 1973 graduate of the Mount Pleasant Area High School. He worked as a self employed Financial Advisor. Tom was most proud of being a certified millwright. He was a true outdoorsman. Tom was an avid and competitive golfer, and loved to hunt, fish and work in his garden. He spent many enjoyable hours riding his motorcycle. Tom coached Little League and Pony League for both Bullskin Township and Mount Pleasant for many years. He was a member of the Hecla Sportsman's Club and the Norvelt Golf Club. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, and a great friend to many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Tom is survived by his loving family: his wife, Kimberly Shaw Stanek, his children; Laura Stanek Pearson and her husband Gary, Thomas M. Stanek, and Michael F. Stanek, all of Mt. Pleasant, and his grandson, Nick Stanek. His step daughters: Holli Fry and her husband Jarrod , Heidi Scriven and her husband Jim both of Monroeville, and Hanna Parry and her husband Josh of Philadelphia. He is also survived by his sisters; Carol Skilone and her husband Eugene, Mary Livingston and her husband Sam, all of Mt. Plasant, and Kathy "Cindy" Denne of Greensburg, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his sisters, Fran Brzozwski, and Dolores "Dee Dee" Keefer. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services for Tom will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko officiating. Inurnment will be private.
