Obituary of Corrine Kissell

Mount Pleasant, Corrine G. "Toots" Crivella Kissell, age 84 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Sunday (10/20/13) in Country Haven Personal Care Home, Scottdale, PA. Mrs. Kissell was born April 21, 1929 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late John and Helen Ceroni Crivella. She was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, where she was an active member, served as a greeter and sang in the church choir. Corrine was a 1947 graduate of the former Ramsay High School. She was employed by the former Frick Community Health Center as a Nursing Assistant for over 20 years. Toots was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, and delivered meal on wheels. She was active in the Mount Pleasant Community, doing everything from working the polls for election to organizing the Dutch Town Reunions. She loved to cook and bake, and enjoyed sharing her baked goods and her dinners with everyone. Toots enjoyed going to dances, and especially loved to Polka. She was very proud to be the first member of her family to visit Italy. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and a friend to all. Toots will be missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving family: her children, Frank L. Plazza, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Scottdale, and Lori Ann Plazza Kooser and her husband Douglas of Connellsville, her grandchildren; Justan Kooser, Tyler Kooser, Robert G. Loebach, and Tina, and Christi Maria Klu, and by her great grandchildren, Kayla, Marian and Malachi. She is also survived by her first husband, Frank L. Plazza, Sr. of Mt. Pleasant and her sister, Louise Prairie of California. In addition to her parents, Corrine was preceded in death by her second husband, John Joseph Kissell in 1988, her infant grandson, Ryan Kooser in 1981, her brothers; Anthony DiGeorgio, and William Angelo "Bootie" Crivella, and her sister, Violet "Babe" Kristoff. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Blessing services will be held on Thursday in the funeral home at 9:30AM followed by her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass in St. Pius X RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. The ministry of consolation will conduct a parish wake service in the funeral home at 3PM on Wednesday.
