Obituary of John M. Sibal

Mount Pleasant, John Michael Sibal, age 77 of Mount Pleasant, PA, formerly of Trauger died Thursday (10/10/13) in the Excela Health- Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg, PA. Mr. Sibal was born February 9, 1936 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Louis and Katherine Minick Sibal. He was a member of St. Florian Roman Catholic Church. John was a graduate of the former Hurst High School. He served in the United States Army and retired from the former Latrobe Die Casting Co as a punch press operator, with over 40 years of service. John enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband and father and grandfather, who will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. John is survived by his loving family: his children; Katherine Thomas and her husband David of Mt. Pleasant and Nadine Leeper and her husband Edward of Trauger, his beloved grandchildren; Jamie Caletri, Tyler Thomas, Shayna Thomas, Alex John Leeper, and Isabella Leeper, and his great granddaughter, Briella Nicholson. He is also survived by his brother and sisters; Joseph Sibal and his wife Betsy, Dolores Smith, Agnes Sliwoski and her husband Stan, Kathleen Florek and her husband John, and Patricia Campomizzi. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Hill Sibal in 2010, his son, John Michael Sibal in 1966, and his brothers Michael and Louis Sibal. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services for John will be held Monday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko officiating. Interment with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 will be in the Visitation Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
