Obituary of John Joseph Lobingier
Mt. Pleasant, John J. "Jack" Lobingier, age 90 of Mt. Pleasant, PA, died Tuesday (09/10/13) in the Amber House at Harmon House, Mount Pleasant.
Mr. Lobingier was born November 6, 1922 in Mt. Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Jerry and Grace Morgan Lobingier.He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Jack was a Veteran of WWII who served proudly in the United States Marine Corps. He was a retired Glass Worker for the former Bryce Brothers and Lenox Crystal Glass Companies with over 47 years of service. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 3368 in Mount Pleasant. Jack was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a very kind and gentle man, "Proud to be a Marine", and a friend to everyone. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Jack is survived by his loving and devoted family: his daughters, Georgeanna Harman of Mt. Pleasant and Patricia Dunn and her husband Terry of LaVernia, TX, his grandchildren; Brian Harman and Sarah and John Dunn, and his great grandchildren, Caitlin Harman and Kylie and Cody Whitfield. He is also survived by his sisters in law, Celine Proud, Marie Lobingier, and his devoted niece, Esther Henderson, and numerous other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ursula Jane Proud Lobingier in 2009, his brothers, Paul, Edward and Frank Lobingier, and his sisters, Infant Mary Jane Lobingier and Mary Catherine Reilly.
Family and friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant.
A blessing service will be held Saturday at 9:30AM in the funeral home followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant.
Interment with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 and the VFW Post 3368 will be in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A Parish wake service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 3PM. The family wishes to thank the staff and Aids of Amber House for their exceptional care and compassion.
