Obituary of Elmer Wilson Slonecker

Type Obit Here Mount Pleasant, Elmer Wilson Slonecker, age 81 of Mount Pleasant PA, (Bullskin Township), died Monday (8/02/10) at his home. Mr. Slonecker was bornMarch 15, 1929 in Jennerstown, PA, the son of the late Charles and Maggie Snively Slonecker. Elmer was a WWII Veteran, having served in the United States Navy. He was a Mechanic, employed by the Pepsi Cola Company in Kecksburg, with over 30 years of service. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #491. Elmer enjoyed doing home repairs and loved spending his time helping his friends and neighbors. He was a wonderful and loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving family: his children; Terry Slonecker of Front Royal, VA, Melissa McCormick of Connellsville, and Maggie Slonecker and Mindy Slonecker, both of Mt. Pleasant. He will be greatly missed by his ten Grandchildren and three Great- Grandchildren. Elmer is also survived by his brother, Ken Slonecker of Connellsville, and by his Special friend and companion, Polly Hart of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to his parents, Elmer was preceded in death by his son, Timothy P. Slonecker in 2001 and by his brother and sister, Charles Slonecker and Fern Friend. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8PM, at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant. As per the wishes of Mr. Slonecker, his funeral services and Inurnment will be private.
