Obituary of Margaret Janice Morgan Goodwin

Jefferson Hills, PA Margaret Janice Morgan Goodwin, age 89 of Jefferson Hills, PA, died unexpectedly Friday (3/29/13) in the Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Jefferson Hills, PA. Mrs. Goodwin was born January 1, 1924 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late William and Maizie Bittner Morgan. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ of Mt. Pleasant. Janice was a graduate of the former Hurst High School, and received her bachelor's degree from the former Indiana State Teachers College, and her master's degree from California University of PA. She was an elementary school teacher for over 25 years, retiring from the New England Elementary School in the West Mifflin School District. Janice enjoyed china painting and playing the piano. She and her husband William loved to travel. They covered the entire United States, as well as visits to Canada, Great Brittan, France, Italy, Spain Norway, Sweden, Germany, Russia, Africa, Egypt, Thailand, and many other countries. Janice is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, William T. Goodwin, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her two brothers, Ronald W. Morgan in 1970 and Edward Clair Morgan in 1990, and her sister, Jean Morgan Newill in 1975. Family and friends will be received Monday from 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 203 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services for Janice will be held Tuesday at 11:00AM in the funeral home, with her Pastor, Paul R. Sarver officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
