Obituary of Joyce Andrews Jones

Joyce Andrews Jones Joyce A. Jones, 81, Sierra Vista, Arizona, died Monday, January 14, 2013. Mrs. Jones was born Joyce Elma Andrews on January 2, 1932, in Ellsworth County, Kansas, the daughter of the late Elmer and Psyche (Cunningham) Andrews. She was a graduate of Marquette High School and Marymount College. She married John L. Jones April 13, 1963 in Fairbury NE. As an Air Force wife, Joyce taught elementary and high school in Kansas, California, Germany, Japan, and Phoenix, Arizona. They retired to Sierra Vista in 1984. Joyce enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking, crafts (especially basket weaving), reading, fishing, and traveling the United States and Canada in their RV. She also enjoyed golf and was a previous member and past president of the Fort Huachuca Woman's Golf Association. She will be remembered for her quick wit and unfailing good humor. Joyce is survived by her husband, of nearly 50 years, John L. Jones of Sierra Vista, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Psyche Andrews, her sisters Florence Hulse, Jessie Girton, Dorothy Rittgers, Ruby Hunt, and Ruth Klein, and her brother Sam Andrews.
