Obituary of Stanley A. Shutty

Mount Pleasant, Stanley A. Shutty, age 77 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Wednesday (01/16/2013) in the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Shutty was born June 17, 1935 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late John and Rose Gambala Shutty. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Stanley was a graduate of the former Hurst High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force who served with the Military Police during the Korean Conflict. Stanley worked for the former Modulas Corporation, and Montgomery Ward, and especially enjoyed working the family farm. He was a member of the American Legion Post 446 of Mt. Pleasant and various social clubs. Stanley is survived by his loving family: his sister, Lillian Bielecki of Greensburg, his sisters in law, Catherine Shutty, Evelyn Shutty, and Sophia Shutty, and by numerous nieces and nephews including Susan DeMarino and her husband Ronald, Gregory O'Connor and his wife Margie and Edward Bielecki. In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his brothers: Edward, John, Chester, Bernard, Walter and Joseph Shutty. Family and friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 1:00PM followed by his 1:30 PM Funeral Mass in St. Pius X RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment with full military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 will be in the Transfiguration Parish Cemetery, Mount Pleasant.
