Obituary of Helen Catherine Hamrock Costelnock

Mount Pleasant, Helen Catherine Hamrock Costelnock, age 92 of Mount Pleasant, PA, paased away Saturday (12/29/12) at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Costelnock was born August 7, 1920 in Youngwood, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Knizner Hamrock. She was a member of the former Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church and its Holy Rosary Society, and currently attended St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church of Everson. She was a graduate of the former Youngwood High School. Helen was an avid Bingo player and a dedicated Steeler Fan. She enjoyed making pierogies with the church ladies, but the most important thing in her life was taking care of her family. Helen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, a very gentle and kind lady, who will be missed by all who knew her. Helen is survived by her loving family: her husband of 65 years, Jerome "Harry" Costelnock, her beloved children, Paul J. Costelnock and his wife Debra, Marcia A. Poole, and Jerome C. Costelnock and his wife Linda, all of Mt. Pleasant. She will be greatly missed by her beloved grandchildren; Asa Costelnock, Alexander Costelnock, Melinda Helfer and Christopher Costelnock, Michael Bashioum, Sarah Clausner, Courtney McHugh, Joshua Costelnock, Zachary Costelnock, Kenneth Bruno, Catherine Costelnock, and Jason Costelnock., and by her great grandchildren; Abigail, Kaylee, Benjamin, Tucker, Hayden, Natalie and Annalee. She is also survived by her sisters, Margaret Procyk of Cleveland, OH, and Eleanor Hamrock of Youngwood. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her son, David Edwin Costelnock in 2011, her son-in-law, Marshall Poole in 1995, and her brother, Stephen Hamrock. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held on Thursday @ 9:15AM in the funeral home, followed by her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Everson, with the Rev. John A. Sedlak , and the Rev. Dennis A. Bogusz as con-celebrants. Interment will be in the Arlington National Cemetery, Fort Myer, VA. Transfiguration Holy Rosary will recite the rosary in the funeral home Wednesday @6PM. The family suggests memorials be made to: Excela Health Hospice in memory of Helen Costelnock.
