Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Simko Jurkovic

Mount Pleasant, Elizabeth Ann Simko Jurkovic, age 92 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Wednesday (12/22/12) in the Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg, PA. Mrs. Jurkovic was born July 26, 1920 in Carpentertown, PA, the daughter of the late Michael and Kathryn Muchusko Simko. She was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church. Elizabeth was a loving mother, grandmother, and Baba. She was a strong woman who endured many challenges during her life, yet she remained a kind woman with a gentle soul. She has gone home to be with the Lord and reunite with her two sons. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Elizabeth is survived by her loving family: her children; Frances Yesho, Nora Wilkins and her husband Larry, and Cindy Sonafelt, her grandchildren; David Yesho and Karen, Dan Yesho and Roberta, and Doug Yesho and DaDawn, Michelle Jurkovic, and Ryan Jurkovic and Stephanie, and Jenna Rodgers and Steven, her Step Grandchildren; Ben Wilkins and Lisa and Bill Wilkins, and by her Six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Helen Richards of Watertown, NY and Joanne Grabiak of Greensburg. In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Jurkovic in 1980, and by her two sons, Philip Jurkovic in 1989 and Michael Jurkovic in 2012. A private visitation and funeral service will be held in the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko officiating. Interment will be in the Visitation Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
