Obituary of Stella Winarski D' Amato

Mount Pleasant, Stella M. Winarski D'Amato, age 90 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Wednesday (12/19/12) in The Harmon House Convalescent Center, Mount Pleasant, PA. Mrs. D'Amato was born September 22, 1922 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late Peter and Caroline Magay Winarski. She was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Stella was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She especially enjoyed watching and helping to raise her grandchildren. Stella in Italian means "Star". Stella was and always will be one of the brightest stars in the sky. She will be sadly missed by her beloved family and by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She is survived by her loving family: her children; Patricia Sarnese and her husband John of Mt. Pleasant, Joseph G. D'Amato, III and his wife Diane of Seymour, Conn, Diane Sargent of Scottdale, Danetta Magruda of Bell Vernon, George A. D'Amato and his wife Darlene and Bernadette Nemec and her husband Sam, all of Mt. Pleasant, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Stella was preceded in death by her husband Joseph G. D'Amato in 1975, and by her daughter; Denise Bugosh in1963. Stella is the last surviving member of her family. Family and friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Saturday at 9:30Am in the funeral home followed by her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass in St. Pius X RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. The family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, in memory of Stella M. D'Amato.
