Obituary of Mathilda Chernek Dunn Grimm

Mount Pleasant, Mathilda Chernek Dunn Grimm, age 93 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Thursday (12/13/12) in Walnut Ridge Memory Care, Greensburg, PA. Mrs. Grimm was born January 11, 1919 in Ronco, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Steish Chernek. She was a member of the Kittanning Church of God. Mathilda was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Scottdale Chapter #383. She was a true animal lover, and devoted to her beloved dogs, Peppy and Duke. Mathilda is survived by her loving family: her sisters; Josephine Mientus of Norvelt and Irene Harr and her husband Robert of Acme, her sisters in law; Genevieve Chernek and Alberta Chernek, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by numerous step children and step grandchildren and great grandchildren of the Luther J. Grimm family. In addition to her parents, Mathilda was preceded in death by her first husband, James Dunn in 1964 and her second husband, Luther J. Grimm in 1993, her son, J. David Dunn in 2002, and by her brothers and sister; Richard, Frank, Joseph, Edward and Harry Chernek and Mary Chernek Emert, and two infant sisters. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services for Mathilda will be held Monday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert W. Grimm officiating. Private Interment will be in the Allegheny County Memorial Park, Allison Park. The order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 383 will conduct services in the funeral home on Sunday.
