Obituary of Evelyn Lois Grimm Rowe

Scottdale, Evelyn Lois Grimm Rowe, age 89 of Scottdale, PA, died Friday (10/5/2012) in Harmon House Convalescent Center, Mount Pleasant, PA. Mrs. Rowe was born August 1, 1923 in Alverton, PA, the daughter of the late John and Annabelle Breegle Grimm. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ of Scottdale. Evelyn was a graduate of the former South Greensburg High School. She had been an employee of Robertshaw Control Company of New Stanton, and then worked for the Southmoreland School District in the Senior High School Cafeteria until her retirement in 1995. She loved to volunteer and was a member of the Bullskin Senior Center. Evelyn was an excellent baker and loved to cook. She is survived by her loving family: her son, James E. Rowe and his wife Christina of Houston, TX, and by her beloved grandchildren, Stephanie, Stephen and Matthew Rowe. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Rowe in 1998, and by her two brothers, Judson Lloyd Grimm and John Eugene Grimm. , Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Evelyn's funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00AM in the funeral home, with her pastor, The Rev. Robert W. Chambers officiating. Interment will be in the Alverton Cemetery.
