Obituary of Patsy R. Rose

Mount Pleasant, Patsy R. Rose, age 81 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Thursday (08/23/12) in Excela Health- Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, PA. Mr. Rose was born October 23, 1930 in Tarrs, PA, the son of the late Michael and Mary Galderise Rose. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant. Patsy was a 1948 graduate of the former East Huntingdon High School. He served in the United Sates Marine Corps during the Korean Era, and was a member of the VFW Post 3368. He loved working in his garden and insisted on doing everything himself. Patsy was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching golf and was truly loyal to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates even when they were losing. He liked to exercise and especially enjoyed walking at the gym. Patsy was a loving husband, father and grandfather, always willing to stop what he was doing to help his children and grandchildren with anything they needed. Patsy is survived by his loving family: his wife of 56 years, Anna M. Pavuk Rose, his beloved children; David M. Rose and his wife Nancy of Panama City, FL, Cynthia M. Underwood of Mt. Pleasant, and Tricia A. Vinzani and her husband Kevin of Acworth, GA, his grandchildren: Brandy Mason and Randall, Ashley Czekaj and Brian, J.D. Underwood and Jessie,and Karlysa, Zachary and Joshua Rose, and by his beloved great grandchildren: Erik Mason, Lily Mason, Cameron Underwood, and Maci Czekaj. He is also survived by his brothers; Richard Rose and Juanita, Joseph Rose and Maxine, Louis Rose and Margaret Ann, all of Mt. Pleasant, and Michael Rose and Peggy of Tarrs, and numerous nieces nephews and cousins. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 5 and 6 to 9PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Monday at 8:30AM followed by his 9:00 AM Funeral Mass in St. Pius X RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment with full military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 and the VFW Post 3368 will be in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
