Obituary of Anne M. (Dolly) Vanella

Mount Pleasant, Anne M. Dolly Vanella, age 79 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died peacefully Monday (07/23/2012 in the Excela Heath- Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, PA, surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 24, 1933 in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Rose Crivella Vanella. Dolly was a member of the former St. Bernadine's RC Church and a current member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. She was a 1950 graduate of the former Ramsay High School. Dolly worked for 41 years as a secretary for Robertshaw Controls, where she took great pride in her work and was an active Union Member and friend to many. She was a devout Catholic who loved her Church and served it well by typing bulletins, singing in the choir, and serving on the Church Council. She was also an active member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Dolly enjoyed saying the rosary, doing crossword puzzles, reading mystery novels, watching game shows, playing cards and shopping for family and friends. She was known for never missing a birthday or acknowledging a special event. Dolly was a true "Giver". She was always one of the first to offer her help, give advice or lend an ear, and especially provide comfort. Her life was rich because of her love and caring of the people around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of many. She was a wonderful, selfless person who will be forever missed and remembered by all who knew and loved her. Dolly will be sadly missed by her loving family: her Sister-in-law, Patty Vanella of Mt. Pleasant, her Nieces and Nephews: Paul W. and Sue (Kovalik) Vanella of Mt. Pleasant, Dr. Mark N. and Amy(Simons) Vanella of Pittsburgh, David J. and Sally Ann (Secosky) Vanella of Greensburg, Dawn Lynn Vanella of Mt. Pleasant, and by her great nieces and nephews; Lee, Ty, Nick, Justine, Maria, Corinne and Will Vanella, and her great great nieces, Bella and Mia Vanella. Uncle John Krzemien, Kathleen Polechko (Ceroni) and her husband Michael and Son Andrew with whom she resided, Karen (Krzemien) Laick and son Michael, De De (Marie) Ceroni, William Ceroni, John (Barb) Ceroni, Anthony Sansone, John DiPasquale, Jr., Stacy DiPasquale, Toots Kissell, Jim Kristoff, Sr., Coke (Carol) Yancosky, Annie Forsythe, Connie (Terry) Thomas, Bernadetta Kattera, Toni Brown, Frank (Julie) Crivella, Karen (Crivella) and Ketih Jervis. In addition to her parents, Dolly was preceeded in death by her brother, Paul William "Pistol" Vanella in 2001. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 9:30AM followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A parish Wake Service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 3PM.
