Obituary of Raymond Thomas Pocratsky

Mount Pleasant, SSGTUSAR (R) Raymond Thomas Pocratsky, age 75 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Monday (07/16./2012) at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Pocratsky was born November 28, 1936 in Mammoth, PA, the son of the late Joseph and Julia Hahula Pocratsky. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant. Ray proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 22 years, retiring as Staff Sergeant. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and had also served in Vietnam. . After his retirement from the Air Force, he worked for the Mount Pleasant Area School District, retiring in 1999. Ray was a member of the VFW Post 3368. He enjoyed watching all sports, especially the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Penguins and the Steelers, and was an avid Pitt Football Fan. Ray had a special talent for being able to fix just about anything from Automobiles, to electrical to Plumbing, and anything else in between. Ray was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving family: his children; Renee Snyder and her husband Ron of Bolivar and Raymond P. Pocratsky and his wife Michelle of Mt. Pleasant, and by his beloved grandchildren, who always put a smile on his face: Laura Nemeth, Ryan Zipnock, Samantha Pocratsky, Alex Snyder, and Jessica Snyder, and by his great grandchildren, Natalie Nemeth and Chase Millberg. Ray is also survived by his sister, Juliann Pochinsky of Lycippus, and numerous Nieces and Nephews, and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife Romayne Faith Hare Pocratsky in 2010, his grandson, Elijah Samuel Pocratsky in 2004 and by his brothers and sisters; Joseph, Martin, Frederick, Stanley, and Thomas Pocratsky , Agnes Pinsky, and Catherine Keitz. , Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30AM followed by his Funeral Mass at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Entombment with full military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 and the VFW Post 3368 will be in the Middle Presbyterian Cemetery Mausoleum, Mount Pleasant Township. A parish wake service will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 3PM.
