Obituary of John J. Drab

Mount Pleasant, John J. Drab, age 95 of Mount Pleasant, PA died Sunday (04/01/2012) in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Drab was born May 19, 1916 in Old Rayne, PA, the son of the late John and Mary Sharish Drab. He was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant. John served in the United States Army during World War II under General Patton. He was a retired conductor for the Penn Central Railroad (Conrail). He was a member of the American Legion Post 446 and the V.F.W. Post 3368 both of Mt. Pleasant. John is survived by his loving family: his wife of 57 years, Josephine Permuko Drab, his children; Patricia Angyal and her husband Alex of Cleveland, OH, and John J. Drab, Jr. of Garfield Heights, OH. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren; John and Mark Angyal, and Sarah and Melanie Drab, and by his great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; Tabitha, Anthony and Caroline Angyal, Cheyenne Fine, and Nick and Jesse Rolsen. John is also survived by his sisters; Mary Payha of Erie, and Eleanore Mazurek of Greensburg. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother and sister, Joseph and Anne Drab. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 4 until 7PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Wednesday in the funeral home at 12:00-Noon followed by his 12:30 PM Funeral Mass in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment with full military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 and the V.F.W. Post 3368 will be in the Visitation Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
