Obituary of Magdalen M. Gonofsky

Mount Pleasant, Magdalen M. "Madge" Kurimcak Gonofsky, age 94 of Mount Pleasant PA, died Monday (03/26/12) in Jo Ella's Personal Care Home, Lemont Furnace, PA. Mrs. Gonofsky was born June 14, 1917 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late John and Josephine Larko Kurimcak. She was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant. Madge was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her loving family, her son; John J. "Jack" Gonofsky and his wife Charlotte of Mt. Pleasant, by her beloved grandchildren; Jon Gonofsky and his wife Jennifer, Chad Gonofsky and his wife Karen, and Joel Gonofsky, and by her great grandchildren; Krista, Sophia and Lane Gonofsky. In addition to her parents, Madge was also preceded in death by her husband John E. Gonofsky in 1997, and her sisters; Bernadette Hawse, and Helen Covalesky. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 12:00 Noon followed by her 12:30 PM Funeral Mass in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Visitation Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A parish wake service will be held Wednesday @3:30PM in the funeral home.
