Obituary of Vincent Alfred Landy

Mount Pleasant, Vincent A. Landy, age 83 of Mount Pleasant PA, died Monday (03/26/12) at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Landy was born November 28, 1929 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Michael and Mary Gillott Landy. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Vince was a 1948 graduate of the former Hurst High School. He retired from the former Robertshaw Control Company, with over 35years of service, and had also worked for the former Janesko Sign Company. Vince then was the proud owner of Landy Concessions for over 40 years. Vince is survived by his loving family: his wife of 61 years, Lois E. Hann Landy, his daughters; Linda M. Pilla and her husband George of Alliance, OH, and Cindy E. Babjack and her husband Lawrence of Greensburg. He will be greatly missed by his beloved grandchildren; Shana Baum, Ryan Pilla,and Eric Pilla, all of Alliance, OH, Michael Falcon of Fort Hood, TX, and Julie Lawrence and her husband Brian, and Adam Falcon, all of Greensburg, and by his great grandchildren; Tyler, Mario, Gia, Ava, Jaxon, Carly and Natalie. Vince is also survived by his brother and sister, Earl E. Landy and his wife Elsie, and Anna Dusenbery and her husband Kendal, all of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters and Brother; LaVerne Landy in 1990, Geraldine Landy Leeder in 2007, and John Landy in 2011. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 1 to 4 & 6 to 9 pm at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 9:30AM followed by his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass in St. Pius X R C Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A Parish wake service will be held Wednesday at 3PM in the funeral home.
