Obituary of Helen M. Meyers

Mount Pleasant, Helen M. Cooper Meyers, age 93 of Mount Pleasant PA, died Friday (9/3) in the Harmon House Convalescent Center, Mount Pleasant, PA. Mrs. Meyers was born November 11, 1916 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of the late John and Jerusha Christner Cooper. Helen was a 1934 graduate of the former Ramsay High School, and then from the Greensburg Business Institute. She was employed by the State of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg until 1946 when she moved to the State of California where she worked until her retirement in the legal department of Universal Studios, Hollywood, CA. She returned home to Mt. Pleasant and to her beloved family in September, 2009. She will be greatly missed by her family and her friends. Helen is survived by her sister Ethel M. Cooper and her brother, Glenn D. Cooper of Mount Pleasant, and by her sister Janet L. Hawkins of Valencia, PA. She is also survived by ten beloved nieces and nephews, ten great nieces and nephews, and five great great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney C. Meyers, and by her brothers; Harold Cooper of Santa Barbara, CA and Albert Cooper of Mount Pleasant. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 PM and Monday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Additional visitation will be on Tuesday from 9 until 11AM, the time of her funeral service in the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Rankin officiating. Interment will be in the Mt Joy Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, PA. The family suggests Memorial gifts may be made to the Reunion Presbyterian Church, Mount Pleasant ,PA or to a Charity of one's choice, in Memory of Helen Cooper Meyers
