Obituary of Regis A. Zipnock

Regis A. “Zippy” Zipnock, 73, of Mt. Pleasant died Sunday December 15, 2024 in Hempfield Manor.  Mr. Zipnock was born April 25, 1951 in Mt. Pleasant to the late William and Florence Zajdel Zipnock. 

Regis was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant Area High School class of 1969 and late graduated from Triangle Tech as an electrician.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.  Zippy worked at Lenox Crystal for over 40 years and at Klocek Burial Vault Company in Mt. Pleasant.  He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Slovak Club, Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post 446 and the American Legion Riders.

Regis is survived by his loving family, his wife of 53 years, Susan J. Welty Zipnock; daughter, Amanda Shuster (Brett); grandson, Nico Shuster; sister-in-law, Nancy Welty; and by his nephews, and niece.  Zippy is also survived by his dear friends, Jimmy Gonofsky (Julie), and Marc Skilone; and by his faithful canine companion, Rocky.  In addition to his parents, Zippy was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Patricia Nichols; brother-in-law, Robert Welty; his family friend, Donna Raley; and his dear dog, Harley.

Family and friends will be received Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., Mt. Pleasant where a Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.  Military Honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 446 of Mt.
