Obituary of Edwin Keith Stone
Edwin Keith Stone (PAP), 93, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Fort Worth on December 8, 2024.
Edwin was born on April 13, 1931, to Jesse Ethan Stone and Marie Evelyn Wiltrout Stone in Bridgeport, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Hurst High School in 1949, Edwin proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Following his military service, Edwin pursued a career in aviation, studying Aircraft Maintenance at the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics, where he graduated at the top of his class. He went on to work as a Jet Engine Aircraft Mechanic for American Airlines in Chicago and spent 22 years at CVG airport in Kentucky and 12 more years at DFW airport in Texas, where he retired.
In 1959, Edwin married the love of his life, Janet Anne Barnhart, in Bridgeport, Pennsylvania. Together, they had five children: Marie, Keith, Diane, Daniel and Mark.
Edwin retired in 1993 and spent his time working on projects around the house and enjoying time with family, his greatest pride and joy. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and he worked hard to keep his family close. Every year, Edwin made it a point to gather his loved ones for a big summer vacation, creating cherished memories with his children, grandchildren and beyond.
Edwin was predeceased by his parents, Jesse Ethan Stone and Marie Evelyn Wiltrout Stone, as well as many relatives and friends. He is survived by his wife, Janet Anne; daughter, Marie Lynn (Keith Alan Raney); son, Keith Edwin (Jana Ellen Townsend Stone); daughter, Diane Elizabeth (Charles Michael Young); son, Daniel Carl (Chongya Ke Stone); son, Mark Alan (Alison McCann Stone); grandchildren, Brian Raney (Michelle), Justin Raney (Emily), Kyle Raney (Kayla); Emily Williams (Jimmie); David Stone (Mattie); Ben Warren (Ann); Jessica Wade (Travis); Tianyi Hu; Simon Stone, Samuel Stone and 13 great and 2 great-great grandchildren as well as brother and sister-in-law Joe and Nancy Barnhart, cousins and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 10:00 until the hour of his Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., Mt. Pleasant, PA. Interment will follow in Greenlick Cemetery, Bullskin Twp. Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 446 of Mt. Pleasant.
