Obituary of Betty J. Coppula
Betty Coppula, (Mikolajczyk), 88, peacefully passed away on December 6th, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 16th, 1936, in Mount Pleasant, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Sophie (Plazza) Mikolajczyk.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Vince Coppula of 68 years, her children Catherine Coppula-Curti (George), Jean Kostelnik (Terry/Ko), Jason Coppula, as well as her grandchildren, Jaime Kostelnik (Brad), Celeste Kostelnik (Shawn), Leigh Hudson (Matt), and Aaron Shumar (Tiffany). She is also survived by her sisters, Louise Dzambo and Esther Smetak (Bob), along with many beloved sister and brother-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Betty graduated from Hurst High School in 1955 and was a member of Saint Pius the X Catholic Church. She was self-employed with her husband at Coppula’s Market in Mount Pleasant. She cherished spending time with her family, and enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, and sewing. Most memorable, she never missed preparing Sunday Dinner for all of her family. She was deeply humble, never accepting praise for the delicious meals she lovingly prepared.
Friends and family will be received at Galone Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant, on Wednesday, December 11th, 2024 from 2 to 4 p.m and 6 to 8 p.m. A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Pius X Church, 224 Summit Street, Mount Pleasant. Entombment will follow at Middle Presbyterian Cemetery. The family would like to send a special thank you to Independence Home Care and Hospice for their wonderful care and support for Betty.
