Obituary of Gregory J. Pfeifer

Gregory J. Pfeifer, 62, formerly of Acme, died Friday October 25, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.  Mr. Pfeifer was born October 28, 1961 in Mt. Pleasant to Pauline A. Bizup Pfeifer and the late Joseph E. Pfeifer.

Greg was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church.  He was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant Area High School class of 1980 and worked most of his life as a machinist.  Greg enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially Sunday dinner with his mother.  He loved the outdoors, deer hunting at camp with his family and friends, and watching sports and movies.  He was a quiet and caring man who was always willing to lend a hand.  Everyone who knew Greg loved him.

In addition to his mother, Greg is survived by his loving family, his siblings, Laura Dietzen (Alan) of Pittsburgh, Michael Pfeifer (Amy) of Scottdale, and Ellen Van Rheenen (Hans) of Cincinnati, OH; his nephew and niece, Evan and Claire Van Rheenen; and by Michael’s step-daughter, Shana Miceli (Matt) and family.  In addition to his father, Greg was preceded in death by his nephew, Michael Dietzen.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., Mt. Pleasant.  A Funeral Mass for Greg will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church (Please go directly to church).  Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation in loving memory of Gregory J.
