Obituary of Larry B. Marker

 

Larry B. Marker, 72, of Ruffsdale, passed away Thursday June 20, 2024 at his residence.  Mr. Marker was born September 12, 1951 in Mt. Pleasant to the late Carl and Evelyn Miller Marker. 

 

Mr. Marker retired from Hanson Aggregates in Whitney.  Music was Larry’s passion.  He had played with numerous bands over the years including, Valentine Smith Band, Dry & Dusty, Cabin Fever, and most recently the Reality Band.  He was a black belt in the Chuck Norris Karate System and was the owner and instructor of American Karate in Mt. Pleasant.  In his free time, Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing poker with his family.

 

Larry is survived by his loving family, his wife, Kimberly Marker; his sons, Bruce Auman, and Dylan Marker; his daughter, Kari Borg; and his grandchildren, Dakota and Kiersten Auman, and Hannah Borg.  Larry is also survived by his brother, Sherman Marker (Joanne); and by his sisters-in-law, Ruby Marker, Mary Jane Marker, and Linda Marker.  In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his son, James Borg; and by his siblings, Nancy Marker Kregar, and Carl, Raymond, and Gerald Marker.

 

Family and friends will be received on Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc. 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in loving memory of Larry B.
