Obituary of Joseph B. Dugger

Joseph B. Dugger, 89, of Everson, passed away Monday June 10, 2024 in Scottdale Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by his loving family.  Mr. Dugger was born December 12, 1934 in Albright, WV to the late Harry L. and Vernie Fairburn Dugger. 

Joe was a member of Pilgrim Presbyterian Church in Scottdale.  He was a graduate of East Huntingdon High School.  Mr. Dugger worked at West Overton Museum for more than 19 years.  Joe was a lifetime member of Everson Volunteer Fire Department for over 60 years, having held various offices.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working bingo, towing with his buddy Alex, and spending time with all of his family.     

Joe is survived by his loving family, his children, Joseph W. Dugger (Mindy) of Everson, Juliana Clausner of Mt. Pleasant, Janice Reed, Emma Mae Henry (Anthony) and Ruth O. Dugger, all of Scottdale, and Marilyn Wright (Ellis) of Everson; his thirteen grandchildren; and numerous great & great-great-grandchildren.  Joe is also survived by his half sisters, Susan Lampo (Don) of Scottdale, and Nellie Prinkey (Barry) of Connellsville; and by his sister-in-law, Maralee Dugger of Mt. Pleasant.  In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Freda Mae Thomas Dugger; his son-in-laws, Ricky Clausner, and Gary Reed; his great-grandson, Gary Preston; and by his brothers, James, Ted, Roy, Harry, Robert, Kenneth, and Calvin Dugger.

Family and friends will be received on Friday from 1:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant.  A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev.
