Obituary of Lynn Ann Proud

Lynn Ann Proud (Peters), also known as Pete by all that knew her well, passed away on May 4, 2024 after a brief illness.  Lynn was born on March 25, 1953 to Charles and Louise Peters.

She graduated from Swissvale High School and Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.  Lynn touched many lives during her more that 30 years of teaching English at Mount Pleasant Area High School.  She loved teaching and continued to stay in touch with many of her former students throughout the years.  Lynn retired from teaching in 2021 and enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with her husband and best friend and their animals.  During the summer months, they took a swim in the pool every evening and enjoyed a nip of tequila on the porch together.

She is survived by her husband George Proud of 46 years, her daughter Erin Proud (Greg Tarbell), mother-in-law Celine Proud, her brother-in-law Larry (Bev) Proud, and her niece Leah Proud.  Lynn was a loving mother and wife.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her husband, daughter, and dog Lucy Lou.  She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Louise Peters and her father-in-law Thomas (Red) Proud.

Upon her request there will not be a service or viewing.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to a local animal shelter in loving memory of, Lynn Ann Proud.
