Obituary of Donald R. Potoka

Donald R. “Donnie Ray” Potoka, 67, of East Huntingdon Twp., died Friday April 26, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family.  Mr. Potoka was born June 28, 1956 in Mt. Pleasant to the late Donald and Veronica Hurst Potoka.

Donnie Ray was a graduate of Southmoreland High School class of 1975.  He worked for East Huntingdon Twp. for many years.    He was a Volunteer Fireman for East Huntingdon Fire Department.  Donnie Ray was a member of East Huntingdon, Mt. Pleasant, and Scottdale Fireman’s Clubs, East Huntingdon Sportsman’s Club, and the VFW Post 3368 and American Legion Post 446 both of Mt. Pleasant.  Donnie Ray enjoyed going to camp, hunting, fishing, and smoking a good cigar with his son, Jason.

Donnie Ray is survived by his loving family, his wife, Linda M. Stoner Potoka; his son, Jason P. Potoka (Fiancé Rebecca Klink); his siblings, Valerie Chearney (John “JR”), and Frank Potoka (Cheryl); and by numerous extended family.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant.  The East Huntingdon Twp. Fire Department will hold a Fireman’s Service at 7:00 p.m. followed by a service with the Mt. Pleasant VFW Ladies Auxiliary.  A Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home with Rev.
