Obituary of Thomas S. Patchell

 

 

 

Thomas S. Patchell Jr., 95, of Donegal formerly of Mt. Pleasant died Tuesday April 9, 2024 at his residence.  Mr. Patchell was born January 30, 1929 in Mt. Pleasant to the late Thomas S. and Mary Hribal Patchell Sr.

 

Tom was a graduate of Ramsay High School class of 1946.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  Tom worked as heavy equipment operator for Eidemiller Construction Company for many years.  He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post 446, Mt. Pleasant VFW Post 3368, and the Scottdale Elks.  Tom enjoyed taking trips to the casino, gardening, and going to Florida.  

 

Tom is survived by his loving family, his wife of 68 years, Emily Quinn Patchell; his children, Thomas J. Patchell of Florida, Bruce Patchell of Mt. Pleasant, and Lisa Patchell of Swissvale; and his granddaughter, Heather Patchell.  He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Mary Jane Pawlikowski; numerous nieces and nephews; and his cat, Lady.  In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his sister, Audrey Skergan.

 

Family and friends will be received on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., 204 Eagle St. Mt. Pleasant.  A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.  Interment with military honors accorded by American Legion Post 446 and VFW Post 3368 of Mt.
