Obituary of Paul A. Zaronsky

 

Paul A. Zaronsky Jr., 87, of Mount Pleasant died at Westmoreland Hospital Greensburg Wednesday, February 14, 2024.  He was born August 17, 1936, a son of the late Paul and Helen Long Zaronsky.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Geraldine Zaronsky, who passed away on January 12, 2024, and his sisters, Edna Maida, Doris Donnadio, and Nancy Nowakoski. 

 

Paul attended the former Ramsay High School.  Prior to his retirement he had been employed by Menasha Corp. of Yukon.  He was a Korean War Veteran, having served in the Army National Guard Co. E, 110th Infantry, and later serving Active Duty in the 508th Airborne Regiment Combat Team (red Devils), 101st Airborne Division (Screaming Eagles), and 1st Airborne Battalion Group, 506th Infantry.  He was a life member of the Hecla’s Sportsman Club, the Standard Shaft Citizens Club, and the American Legion Post 446 of Mt. Pleasant.  Paul was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed gardening, woodcarving, golfing, and bowling.

 

Paul is survived by his two daughters, Diane Kuhns of Ligonier, and Denise (Frank) Patula of Acme; his four grandchildren, Amanda (Christopher) Taylor, of Ligonier, Ryan Kuhns, of Mt. Pleasant, Captain Adam Patula, of Acme, and Jared Patula, of Acme; his sister, Joy Graczyk, of Canandaigua, New York; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

In honoring Paul’s wishes there will be no viewing and funeral services will be private.  The family suggests memorial contributions to be made to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center or a charity of your choice, in loving memory of Paul Zaronsky.  All arrangements have been entrusted to Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., Mt.
