Obituary of Karen Sue Zema

Karen Sue Zema, 71, of Mt. Pleasant died Tuesday December 5, 2023 at her residence with her loving family by her side.  Karen was born July 30, 1952 in Mt. Pleasant to the late James W. and Irene E. Balchik Zema.

Karen was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School class of 1970.  She started her career at Somerset Hospital as a x-ray technician.  Karen went on to become a nuclear medical technician at Uniontown Hospital.  Karen enjoyed walking her dogs, Abby, Sammy, Remi, and Lady at Frick Park.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend. 

Karen is survived by her loving family, her son, Aaron Zema; her grandson, Maxwell Zema; her sister, Kimberly Paxton (Bruce); her cousin Lynn Hebda (Larry); and many friends.
