Obituary of Lawrence F. O'Toole

Lawrence F. O’Toole, 81, of Mechanicsburg, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday November 21, 2023 in UPMC West Shore Hospital.  Mr. O’Toole was born August 4, 1942 in Charleroi to the late Francis and Florence Childs O’Toole.

Mr. O’Toole was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church.  He was a graduate of Charleroi High School class of 1960 and a graduate of California University in Pennsylvania in 1963.  Larry worked as a teacher at Hurst High School for 4 years and as a technical writer for over 35 years at MSA and RCA.  Larry enjoyed being a hand radio operator and was a member of the Laurel Highlands BHF society, and ARRL.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family.

Larry is survived by his loving family, his children, Rosemary J. Nestler of Spring Grove, Christopher P. O’Toole (Heather) of Carlisle, and Patrick T. O’Toole (Becky) of Mt. Joy; his grandchildren, Sophia and Talia Nestler, and Julia, Owen, and Ethan O’Toole; and his sister-in-laws, Betty Halligan, and Betty Sapola.  In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Dorothy J. Sapola O’Toole in 2015.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., 204 Eagle St. Mt.
