Obituary of Sally L. Thomas

Sally Lou Thomas, 92, of Mt. Pleasant died Thursday November 2, 2023 at RNC in Greensburg surrounded by her loving family.  Ms. Thomas was born May 30, 1931 in Lake Lynn, PA to the late Mildred J. Crow.

Sally was a graduate of Point Marion High School class of 1948.  She was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant.  Sally was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and the Woman's Society of the United Methodist Church.  Sally was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and at Frick Hospital.  She was a woman with strong faith, who loved her friends and her church family. 

Sally is survived by her daughters, Linda A. Yonkey (Jeffrey) of Greensburg, and Peggy J. Ulishney (Doug) of Latrobe; her grandchildren, Matthew J. Yonkey (Chrissy), and Marcy Yonkey; her great-grandchildren, Miles and Cole Yonkey; her close family friend Terry Jones; numerous lifelong friends, and all her neighnors at Greenwood Apartments.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of her funeral service at 3:30 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant, with Pastor Bob Ellson officiating.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to her homecare givers Jamie and Debbie, and all the staff at RNC of Greensburg for their wonderful care of Sally.  In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the Westmoreland County Food Bank in memory of Sally L.
