Obituary of Carole L. Hood

Carole L. Hood, 79 of Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday June 1, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Hood was born November 4, 1943 in Camp Hill, Pa to the late Walter and Geraldine White Shaffer.

Carole was a graduate of Connellsville Area High School. She worked in the restaurant industry for most of her life, owning Hoody's Restaurant in Mt. Pleasant with her late husband, Fred. Carole was an avid bingo player, loved playing cards, planting flowers, and above all loved spending time with her family.

Carole is survived by her loving children, Cheryl L. Hall of Mt. Pleasant, and Chad F. Hood of Yukon; her loving grandchildren, Tori Pritts, Tyler Hall, and Ashley Minick; and by her adoring great-grandchildren, Aria, Teagan, Esra, and Adalynn. Carole is also survived by her siblings, Duane Shaffer (Debbie), Ed Shaffer (Carol), Walt Shaffer (Lindsay), and Brenda Reid. In addition to her parents, Carole was preceded in death by, her husband Frederick Hood in 2021; her daughter, Christina Lee Polanofsky in 2006; and by her son Craig E. Hood in 2022.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from noon until the hour of the funeral service at 1:00 PM in Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St. Mt. Pleasant.
