Obituary of Mary M. Rose

 

Mary M. “Peggy” Rose, 73 of Tarrs died Monday May 15, 2023 in Excela-Health Westmoreland Hospital.  Mrs. Rose was born May 28, 1949 in Mt. Pleasant to the late Reynold and Margaret “Blink” Blanda Parfitt. 

Peggy was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church.  She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and worked from many years at the sewing factory in Norvelt.  Peggy was an avid bingo player and she loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas.  She loved to talk on the phone for hours and spending time with her dogs, Charcoal and Sophie. 

Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Michael Rose Jr.; her sister, Darlene Vincent (Brian); her nephews, Raymond “Ray” Rice (Tonya), Ricky Rice (Heather), and Randy Rice (Kristen); her great nieces and nephews, Raelynn Rush (Scot) and their son, Carter, Kaylee Rice (Zach), Trevor Rice, and Jayden Rice; and by her best friends, Darlene and Jim Cook.  In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her great-nephew Brandon Rice.

Family and friends are invited on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM in Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant.  A blessing service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 10:30 AM followed by her funeral mass at 11:00 AM in St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in St. Pius X Parish Cemetery.  To offer an online condolence please visit our website at www.galone-carusofuneralhome.com
