I was married to Joe’s great-niece and goddaughter, Paula Keefer Torcaso. I will always be grateful for the way that he, as well as the rest of the Ovitskys, welcomed me into the family right away. Uncle Joe was the best; he was the kinda guy that made me think ‘oh cool, Uncle Joe’s here!’ because I knew we’d be laughing over some story he had to tell.
I always admired the close relationship that he and Paula shared; never forgetting to get together for every birthday, holiday and Fathers Day. They were blessed to have had each other and we were all blessed to have had them both in our lives. God bless you, Uncle Joe. You will be missed.
