Obituary of Lois Johns

Lois M. Johns, 65, of Havelock North Carolina, formerly of Mt. Pleasant PA passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday Sept. 14, 2022.  Lois was born on January 4, 1957, daughter of the late L. Henry and Frances Johns.

 

She graduated from Mt. Pleasant Area High School in 1974.  Lois was very proud of her military service which included 3 years active duty and 20 years in the Army Reserves. Prior to her retirement she worked for the Federal Government at Marine Corps Air Station in Cherry Point, NC. Lois had a contagious smile, a love for life, and the well deserved title of “The Fun Aunt”. 

 

Lois will be sadly missed by her brothers, William Johns of North Carolina and David Johns and his wife Evelyn of Tennessee; her sister Dianne Estridge and her husband Wayne of Ohio; and her nieces and nephews, Michael (Sabrina) Johns, Melissa (Jairo) Barosela, Charles Johns, Jeffrey Johns, Kathryn (James) Taylor, Deborah (Adam) Gurlacz, Rebecca (Aaron) Anderson, Karen Estridge, Kelly Estridge, and Kimberly (Jeremy) Snellings. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews and a great-great niece and nephew. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Robert Johns and her sister Donna Khan.

 

Family and friends are invited on Tuesday September 20th from 6 to 8 PM at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant.  A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Paul Sarver.  Interment with Military Honors will be accorded by VFW Post 3368 and American Legion Post 446 of Mt.
