Obituary of Ronald R. Magyor
Ronald R. Magyor, age 78 of Mount Pleasant died Wednesday, September 7, 2022 in Eicher's Personal Care Home in Normalville. Mr. Magyor was born on October 1, 1943 in Mammoth, PA, the son of the late George and the Anthanette Klaka Magyor. Ron was a member of the American Legion Post 446 and the Hecla Sportsmens Club. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy with the Admiral staff during the Vietnam War. He was a retired State Corrections Officer. Ron enjoyed music and played several instruments in his lifetime. One of the proudest moments is when he played a saxophone solo at Carnegie Hall. He spent his spare time in the garden planting many different vegetables which he always shared with friends. Ron was also an avid deer hunter. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Margaret “Peggy” (Colbert) Magyor, his brother John Magyor and his sister Theresa Lincoln. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brothers, George Magyor Jr., Thomas Magyor, and his twin Robert Magyor.
Family and friends will be received on Monday from 4:00 -8:00 PM and Tuesday from 10:00- 11:00 AM, the time of Ron’s funeral service, with the Rev. Rob Allison and the Rev. Tim Beatty co-officiating in the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Interment with military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 446 in Mt.
