Obituary of Ruth Ann Queer
Ruth Ann “Dolly” (Newill) Queer, age 78 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Friday, June 24, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Queer was born June 27, 1943, in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of the late
Andrew and Marie Workman Newill. She was a member of the Kecksburg Church of God. Dolly was a 1961 graduate of the former Hurst High School and earned her Bachelor’s degree from Geneva College in 2001 in International Business.
She retired from Allegheny Energy/West Penn Power in 2002 as Manager of Building Services.
Dolly was a member of the Woman’s Club of Mount Pleasant, Touchstone Center for Crafts, the Nature Printing Society, Red Hats Society and the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners. She had also served as President of Council for the Kecksburg Church of God, Chaplain for the Braddock Trail Chapter of the DAR and Chairperson of the Hurst Alumni Reunion Committee.
Dolly is survived by her loving family: her sons, Jeffrey P. Queer and his wife Chelsea and James A. Queer and his wife Georgann and by her beloved grandchildren; Brittany Nicole Clawson, Kayla Marie Queer, James Paul Queer, who has been by Dolly’s side every day, Casey James Queer, and Seth Alexander Simons. She is also survived by her sister, Myrna Armbrust (Scotty) and her sister in law, Debra Newill. In addition to her parents, Dolly was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Queer, Jr., by her brother, William C. Newill and by her brother- in- law, James Armburst.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant.
