Obituary of Donald A. Handley

Donald A. Handley Jr., age 65 of Hunker PA, died unexpectedly Sunday, March 6, 2022 in the Excela Health- Frick Hospital Mount Pleasant, PA. He was born January 6, 1957 in McKeesport, PA, the son of the late Donald A. and Betty Jo Herbert Handley Sr. . Don was a Carpenter/Fabricator for Custom Interior Design. He was a 1974 Elizabeth Forward High School graduate who holds the pole vaulting record for 13’6”. He was a member of New Stanton United Methodist Church. He loved to travel and was an avid sports fan. Don enjoyed golfing having been a member of the PPGA Golf League and worked at the 84 Classic and U.S. Open at Oakmont. He was an active participant in assisting the rescue of the Pennsylvania Miners trapped at Quecreek Mine in 2002. Don is survived by his loving wife, Eilene C. Bozak Handley, his brothers David A. Handley Sr. (Kathy), Rev. Daniel A. Handley (Neva), Rev. Dennis A. Handley (Christa) and Darren A. Handley (Missy). He is also survived by several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends. Family and Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 10 at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, at New Stanton United Methodist Church, 612 S. Center Avenue, New Stanton, PA 15672 with his brother Rev. Dennis A. Handley officiating.
