Obituary of Jason Kenneth Whipkey

New Florence, Jason Kenneth Whipkey, age 31 of New Florence, PA, formerly of Acme, died Friday (5/27/2011) as a result of a Kayaking accident in Dunbar Township. Mr. Whipkey was born November 30, 1979 in Mount Pleasant, the son of Larry and Jackie Annonio Whipkey, of Acme. Jason was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Trauger.He was a graduate of the Mt. Pleasant Area Senior High School. Jason was employed by R.J.F. Development Corp as a Construction Worker, a job which he truly loved. He was a true and natural outdoorsman, who enjoyed camping, hiking, kayaking, and hunting and was most adept at the art of fly fishing. Jason had a very quiet disposition. He was a very kind young man, who was well liked by everyone. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. Jason is survived by his loving family: his parents, Larry and Jackie Whipkey, by his brother Bryan T. Whipkey and by his nephew Jesse, all of Acme. He is also survived by his paternal Grandmother, Betty Whipkey , by his Maternal Grandmother, Jennie Annonio and by his numerous loving Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Jason was preceeded in death by his Grandfathers; Kenneth Whipkey and Jack Annonio. Family and friends are invited to attend Jason's Memorial Service on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 11:00AM at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Trauger, with his pastor, the Rev. David Ackerman officiating. Inurnment will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant, PA.
