Obituary of Henry Caruso Jr.

Henry Caruso Jr. passed away peacefully at his home, Saturday, February 19, 2022. Mr. Caruso was born October 5, 1944 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of the late Henry and Margaret Citro Caruso. Henry attended the former Ramsay High School. He was a decorated Veteran who had served in the United States Army, 1st Infantry, during the Vietnam War. Henry had a passion for bird dogs and horses which he turned into a lifelong career. His tenure as a professional bird dog trainer-handler spanned fifty some years. Henry left an indelible mark on the American Field Trial sport. These events took him and his client’s dogs all over the US. He made many lifelong friends throughout his career. Henry loved listening to the oldies, playing cards with friends and family, and telling stories! He is survived by his loving son, Dean and his wife Carey and by his adoring grandchildren, Alyssa, Devon, Deana and Chase Caruso. Henry is also survived by his sisters, Henrietta Balcerek, Amelia (Joseph) Forys and Karen Caruso. In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his son, Henry "Sonny" Caruso and by his brothers and sisters; John H.”Jack”, Robert “Robbie” and Daniel Caruso, Margaret Jurkowski and Patricia Pfiefer. Family and friends will be received Monday, Feb. 28th from 11AM to 1 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant where Henry’s Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM with Pastor Lee Maloy officiating. Inurnment will be private.
