Obituary of Marie Florence Macaluso

Marie Florence Della Vecchia-Macaluso age 95, formerly of 225 Summit St. Mt. Pleasant, PA, passed away Wednesday February 16, 2022 at Amber House Assisted Living Facility. Mrs. Macaluso was born August 5, 1926, in Collingdale, PA to Stefano and Antoinette Del Sordo-Della Vecchia. Marie was a licensed cosmetologist throughout the majority of her working career, but also worked as a seamstress in her earlier years. She was an active member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and was an avid bingo player, shopper, gardener, and loved spending time with her family and friends. Marie is survived by her son, Tom Macaluso and his wife Cathy of Reedsville, WV; her grandchildren, Maria Macaluso and her significant other Rich Blotzer of Pittsburgh, Melissa Macaluso of Shippensburg, and Ryan Macaluso and his wife Jeanette of State College; and by her great-grandson, Cody Macaluso of Shippensburg. Marie is also survived by her daughter Theresa Macaluso-Palmer and her family of Hempfield Township. In addition to her parents Marie was preceded in death by her husband Patsy T. Macaluso. In honoring Marie's wishes there will be no hours of public visitation or service. The family asks those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Marie's memory to please donate to the local Blind Association.
