Obituary of Jennie M Gulisek

Jennie M. Gulisek, age 81 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Thursday, February 3, 2022 in the Excela Health- Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA. Mrs. Gulisek was born January 22, 1941 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late George and Julia Levic Smolich. She was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Trauger. Jennie often hosted the Ladies Prayer Group at her home and had volunteered at St. John’s Catholic School for many years. She was a 1958 graduate of West Newton High School. Jennie was the 1st female EMT for the Mutual Aid Ambulance Service. She loved to travel, but spending time with her family was the time she cherished the most. Jennie was a loving wife, mother, Nana and friend who will be greatly missed. She is survived by her loving family; her husband, John “Jack” J. Gulisek Jr., her sons, James Gulisek of Greensburg, Joseph Gulisek (Heidi) of Mount Pleasant and Jerome Gulisek of Texas, and by her grandchildren, Aaron Daniels of Mount Pleasant and Katrina Gulisek of Texas. Jennie is also survived by her sister-in-law, Kay Smolich and by her beloved caregivers and their families; Chris, Crystal, Sue, Marianne, Erica, Patty, Penny, Krystle and Kayla. In addition to her parents, Jennie was preceded in death by her son, John Gulisek, her brothers Mark and Mike Smolich and by her sisters, Dolores Coughanour and Ruth Sanner. Family and friends will be received Monday, February 7th, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and Tuesday, from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Jennie’s Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 10:00AM at the funeral home with Father Paul-Alexander Shutt, OSB, officiating. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Trauger.
