Obituary of Donald G. Bales

Donald G. Bales, age 86 of, Mount Pleasant, PA, died peacefully, Saturday, (01/8/2022). Mr. Bales was born July 25, 1935 in Alverton, PA, the son of the late Frank and Grace Bowers Bales. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Don was a graduate of the former East Huntingdon High School. He had worked for Acme Markets for over 20 years and then retired after many years as a Dispatcher for the Allegheny Power Company. In his younger days, Don was an avid runner and a longtime member of the Mt. Pleasant Rescue Squad. He and his wife, Louise, enjoyed traveling, and then later in life, they could always be seen in town walking together. He was a kind and caring husband, father and grandfather and a friend to many. He is survived by his loving family: his daughter, Barbara (Ben) Veto, his son, David (Josette) Bales, his beloved grandsons, Alexander and Gregory Veto, his godson, DJ Rinaldi, his niece, Audrey Bell, and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Rinaldi Bales in Oct. 2021 and by his brothers, Walter R. Bales and Charles W. Bales. Family and friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Saturday at 11:30 AM in the funeral home, followed by Don’s Funeral Mass at 12 Noon at St. Pius X RC Church, Mount Pleasant. Interment will follow in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery. The family wishes to send a special “ Thank You” to the Nurses and Staff at Harmon House for their compassion and the dignified care given to their father.
